Updates August 2010:
  • Delegates identified by EdF-Energy for the Dungeness .B. site visit have been separately notified, and the security clearance process is taking place. Priority has been given to overseas visitors. It is regretted that the visit to the Dungeness .A. site was not possible. All other delegates will proceed earlier to Leeds Castle, where a pleasant afternoon ahead of the banquet is promised.
  • If you submitted an ABSTRACT which is not in the Provisional Programme, please contact TONY WICKHAM immediately confer@globalnet.co.uk
  • Additional POSTERS are welcomed. At this stage please send any additional proposals direct to TONY WICKHAM by e-mail confer@globalnet.co.uk
  • Additional delegates may register but will be accommodated in a nearby hotel and not at the Eastbourne Centre, as all rooms at the Centre have now been taken. Please submit the registration form in the usual way, and you will be contacted individually about the arrangements.

Building on the success of INGSM-10 in West Yellowstone and the previous meetings in this series, the British Carbon Group is delighted to invite you to participate in the 11th INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR GRAPHITE SPECIALISTS' MEETING, which will be held from 12th - 15th September 2010 at the Eastbourne Centre, East Sussex, UK. This location adjoins the English Channel coast and is readily accessible by frequent direct train service from LONDON GATWICK airport and from EUROSTAR train services from continental Europe (change at ASHFORD).

The Eastbourne Centre offers excellent bedroom accommodation as well as conference facilities at highly competitive rates, so this year we offer a comprehensive package for both the meeting and the accommodation which will require only a single payment to be made to the British Carbon Group. Full details are given on the registration form. The registration deadline is 30th July 2010, after which a penalty charge will be incurred. Late registrants may be asked to use adjacent hotels if the accommodation allocation is exceeded.

PLEASE NOTE that the conference programme commences at 4pm (16h00) on Sunday afternoon 12th September, and is expected to continue until 4pm (16h00) on Wednesday afternoon 15th September. Delegates should please bear this in mind when planning their travel, as they may well find it convenient to remain in the Centre overnight on the Wednesday before commencing their journeys the following day. Requests for additional nights can be made on the Registration Form.

The Gen IV Graphite Group Meeting, chaired by Mr. Mike Davies of AMEC Nuclear, will follow this INGSM meeting and take place at the same location on Thursday and Friday 16th and 17th September. Delegates who are participating in this additional meeting will receive an invitation from Mr. Davies in due course. A limited number of observers may be allowed to attend the meeting at the discretion of the Chair. Any delegate who wishes to attend one or both days of the meeting as an observer must therefore notify the Chair beforehand (mike.w.davies@amec.com). If permission is granted the delegate should book the additional days on the INGSM registration form. No separate booking for accommodation for this add-on meeting will be necessary.
