Social Programme

Eastbourne has a BLUE FLAG BEACH (a symbol of high water quality) which is immediately across the road from the EASTBOURNE CENTRE. The beach consists of pebbles, although some sand is exposed at low tides. There are exceedingly pleasant seafront walks, especially to the south-east in the direction of Beachy Head, which is also accessible by local bus services. Leeds Castle

Conference Banquet

The Conference Banquet will be held at LEEDS CASTLE in Kent. Excursions by coach travel will be included as part of the programme, on the afternoon of Tuesday 14th September.

Dungeness “B” (operating AGRs)

Delegates on this tour will be limited to 20. A special application form will be available for download and must be completed by all those seeking to join this tour. Further details are available on the registration page.

All delegates on the tour must carry a valid PASSPORT even if they are British Citizens. All applications for this tour must be submitted with a completed Registration Form and MUST reach A. J. Wickham no later than AUGUST 12TH 2010. Entry to the site will be subject to security clearance procedures, and British Energy Generation Ltd reserves the right to deny access without explanation. Delegates must be willing to comply on the day with all security and safety requirements and must at all times follow the instructions of British Energy personnel. Photography without explicit permission is forbidden. Submission of an application for this visit implies agreement to these conditions.

Dungeness “A” (decommissioned Magnox reactors)

Unfortunately permission was denied for Dungeness 'A' so this has been cancelled. Delegates can nominate which tours they wish to join, but will need to give a second (and maybe third) choice. All non-british nationals MUST complete the entry form and email to the conference chair as described here.

It is likely that not every delegate can be accommodated on these visits because of limitations on visitor numbers. An alternative activity will be arranged for remaining guests.
