    By Plane

There are many direct flights to Nantes, the simplest is to check on this map. Otherwise you can fly to Paris, either the main Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport or the smaller Paris Orly. (There is a third airport, Paris Beauvais, used by RyanAir, which is a long way out of Paris but has a good bus connection). From Nantes airport there is a bus that takes you into the city centre that runs every half an hour and takes about 20 minutes (Tram Stop "Commerce" - if you catch this, the same ticket then allows you to travel on the Trams etc for a total journal time of up to one hour). From Paris Charles de Gaulle airport there are direct trains to Nantes, alternatively you can take the Metro (RER B) into the centre of Paris and then catch a train from the station 'Gare Montparnasse' to Nantes. From Paris Orly you can either catch a bus or the metro to the city centre and trains from Paris Montparnasse, or alternatively take the metro to 'Massy Paliseau' and there are also direct trains to Nantes from there (less frequent). From Rennes airport it is less convenient, you must catch a bus to Rennes city centre and then a train to Nantes (or arrange somebody to come and pick you up).

    By Train

Direct high speed 'TGV' trains are available from Paris (see details above). If you are coming from the UK or Belgium there is the possibility of the Eurostar which takes you to 'Gare du Nord' in Paris. From there take the Metro (purple line M4) to Gare Montparnasse.

    By Car

Nantes is well connected by motorway in the direction of Paris, further details are available here. If you are planning to drive we can send details.

    By Ferry

There are ferries to Caen, Cherbourg and Saint Malo from the UK and Ireland, all of which are a reasonable drive from Nantes. These are served by Brittany Ferries.

    Local Transport in Nantes

When you register at the conference we will give you a pass that allows free travel on all public transport in Nantes (Trams, buses, even the boats!) throughout the duration of the conference.
